Receiving Dentsply Sirona Digital Impressions in 3Shape Dental System

Starting with 3Shape Dental System version 2021.2, customers with a LabCare subscription can receive Dentsply Sirona digital impression scans directly in Dental System free of charge.

There is no longer a need to download cases from the Connect Case Center platform or any other channel. TRIOS cases and Dentsply Sirona intraoral scanner cases can be received in the same inbox.

Prerequisites

Before getting started, ensure the following requirements are met:

• Create a free account in Dentsply Sirona's "Connect Case Center".
• Link your "Connect Case Center" account to your 3Shape Communicate account.
• Ensure the Dentsply Sirona intraoral scanner inbox in 3Shape Communicate ("3rd Party IOS") is enabled.

For customers with a LabCare subscription, the 3rd party inbox is available free of charge. To enable the 3rd party inbox, update the dongle in Dental System Control Panel.

Setting up integration between Dentsply Sirona Connect Case Center and 3Shape Communicate

Follow the steps below to synchronize your Dentsply Sirona "Connect Case Center" account with your 3Shape Communicate account and enable the integration:

Step 1: Go to the 3Shape Communicate Portal and log in to your Communicate account.

Step 2: Select the "Integrations" tab.

Step 3: Locate the Dentsply Sirona integration option.

Step 4: Click "Enable Integration". 

A pop-up window will display the minimum version of 3Shape Dental System required to support the integration. Verify that you are using a supported version.

Step 5: Click "Proceed".

Step 6: Log in to your Dentsply Sirona "Connect Case Center" account.

Step 7: Enter your credentials and click "Login".

Step 8: When prompted to share information from your Connect Case Center account with 3Shape Communicate, click "Yes".

Step 9: After being redirected back to 3Shape Communicate, verify that the integration is active.

Accepting and processing Dentsply Sirona intraoral scans in Dental System

To receive and accept Dentsply Sirona Intraoral Scans:

Step 1: Open Dental System.

Step 2: Select the "3Shape Communicate Inbox" tab.

A folder named "3rd Party IOS" is available in the inbox. Dentsply Sirona intraoral scanner cases will appear in this folder.

Step 3: To view the order form, right-click the case and select "Open".

When accepting a case, choose one of the following options:

• "I will design in Dental System" – Select this option when the case will be designed in Dental System.
• "I won't design in Dental System" – Select this option when the case will be designed in another CAD software.

If "I will design in Dental System" is selected, the scans will be retrieved from 3Shape Communicate and the case will be moved to the "Scanned (3rd party)" tab.

Note: Retrieval may take several minutes depending on the size of the scan data.

Step 4: Once the case appears in the "Scanned (3rd party)" tab, continue processing the case using the standard TRIOS scan workflow.
