Windows 11 Update - Connection Issues Between Server and Client PCs
After upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, some users may experience connection issues between their server and client PCs.
When attempting to access the server from a client PC through File Explorer, Windows may prompt for login credentials that are unavailable.

Cause
This behavior may occur after installing Windows update KB5066835, which introduces updated Windows 11 security settings.
Windows treats duplicate Security Identifiers (SIDs) as a potential security risk. If the server and client PCs share the same SID, Windows blocks access to network resources.
This behavior is controlled by Windows and cannot be reverted through Dental System.
Resolution
To restore connectivity, each PC must have a unique SID.
Because this issue is related to the Windows network configuration rather than Dental System, 3Shape recommends involving your local IT specialist.
Provide the following information to your IT specialist:
- The issue started after upgrading to Windows 11.
- Windows may block communication between computers that have duplicate Security Identifiers (SIDs).
- Each computer must have a unique SID to restore access to shared network resources.
